All About Web Hosting Providers
A Web hosting provider, or Web host for short, is a company that provides web space or server space, Web services, and file maintenance for Web sites.
The typical web hosting provider provides Shared hosting, where your site is being hosted but the web server resources is shared by many other websites.
If you need a little bit more than just webspace for your website then the following are other web hosting options to look into:
If you don't have your own web server the Web hosting provider will provide the web space for your site but you are in control of your website.
Your website is controlled by you. Your Web hosting provider is not your webmaster. The web hosting provider giges you the web space and you or your webmaster will have to service the files within that web space... all the files that makes up your web site.
Many Internet Service Providers, such as America Online, will allow subscribers a small amount of server space to host a personal Web page.
Other commercial ISPs will charge the user a fee depending on the complexity of the site being hosted.
If you plan to have your website up and running no matter who your Internet Service Provider is, then consider using a web hosting provider to host your site instead of your ISP.
